Belarusian State Choreography Gymnasium-College
The Belarusian State Choreography Gymnasium-College (BSCGC) is a unique educational establishment, a world famous ballet school.
The college invites foreign citizens to study Choreography Art during a full-time Classical Ballet undergraduate programme and to get the qualification of Artist, Choreographer, Teacher. The period of study is three years.
The enrollment of foreign citizens is regulated by the Agreement for Providing Undergraduate Training provided on a fee basis.
We accept applications on our study programme in Choreography until 15 October annually. The applicants are required to apply via Registry and need to provide their:
Identity document;
Application addressed to the director;
Education certificate;
Medical certificate and certificate providing negative HIV test results;
Birth certificate (original/photocopy);
6 photographs (3x4 cm);
Certificate of compulsory health insurance, satisfying the appropriate specific requirements set in the Republic of Belarus.
The college programme requires applicants to attend an oral Russian language interview and an audition to evaluate certain qualities and skills essential for a classical ballet student.
The college academic curriculum of professional subjects is identical to the one of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography. Along with the comprehensive subjects, the college curriculum includes classical dance, duet, folk (character) and Belarusian dance, historical-social dance, contemporary choreography trends, dance composition, methods of dance teaching, methods of work with a dance company, stage make-up and acting skills. The students also study the history of choreography and related arts, psychology and pedagogy. All the professional and general education subjects build up a bright creative personality of a highly qualified ballet dancer.
Throughout its 70-year-long history the college has acquired a unique teaching staff. Among the highly qualified ballet and dance teachers there are a lot of famous ballet dancers, including National Artists of the Republic of Belarus or Honored Artists of the Republic of Belarus.
The college is a well-equipped educational institution with an academic building that accommodates 10 ballet classrooms, a specially equipped sports hall, a library, a reading hall, classrooms and music rooms. There are also a canteen, a medical center and a dormitory on the campus. The high quality of training, modern equipment and comfortable accommodation attract students from different countries.
The college graduates have an opportunity to join not only the ballet company of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet but also foreign ballet companies including The Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburgh, John Neumeier’s Hamburg Ballet, The Grand Theatre in Warsaw, Royal Swedish Opera, St. Petersburg Eifman Ballet, the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, etc.
